Wolf and Raven each represent a lesson within the Seven Grandfather teachings. The Raven, Gwayakwaadiziwin, is Honesty. It takes bravery to be honest in our words and actions, and to be honest to others one must first and foremost be honest with oneself. The Wolf is Dabaadendiziwin, Humility. Indigenous people understand their relationship to all of creation. Humility is to know one’s place within Creation and to know that all forms of life are equally important. This piece is a reminder that we must show compassion for all of creation.
